The web master will interpret these guidelines, add new guidelines, and delete some guidelines. The web master is solely responsible for determining what can or cannot be posted.
No adult oriented material may be posted.
No material will be posted unless it in some way is related to HHH family genealogy.
Do not submit pedigree charts. That information is for a different repository at a different site.
Submit all documents in electronic form, no originals.
Do not submit copyrighted material unless you have obtained permission from the copyright owner.
Understand that access to this material is public and that you will lose control of how it might eventually be used or misused.
Do not submit documents that could be used to harm living individuals. Any document less than 70 years old must be accompanied by your statement that you have reviewed the material and that it contains no information that will harm a living person (a one year old death certificate is unlikely to be misused but a thirty year old birth certificate should not be posted).
Provide a title that will aid viewers in determining if the document is worth reviewing. The more detail the better. “Will of Aaron Hardin, SC, 1815” is much superior to “Hardin estate record”.
Provide the category for posting. Our current categories are:
Books / Cemetery Records / Census Records / Church Records / DAR-SAR Applications / Deeds / Family Bibles / Letters / Military Records / Newspapers / Other Government Records / Photographs / Tax Records / Wills and Estate Records
Provide the location of the original documents or the location of the copy that you found. Examples are: “Family Bible in the possession of Mary Hardin / 123 Main Street / Everywhere, Ohio 08123 / (816) 123-5555 / maryh@alltel.net” or “probate office / Greenville County Courthouse / 100 Government Blvd / Greenville, SC 12345 / (803) 543-1234"
Provide your name and contact information (as much as you are comfortable with sharing but at least enough for the webmaster to contact you).
Provide as much information as you can. For example, include a scanned image of the original record, a transcription of what that document says, the location of the original document, the date that the document was created, a text file with the names and dates of the people mentioned in the document, so that it can be indexed.
